FAQ's

Royal Bull — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. What materials do Royal Bull jackets and vests use?

Our products are made from genuine leathers commonly used for riding and fashion—cowhide, buffalo, lambskin, and in some styles, high-quality synthetic leather. Cowhide and buffalo offer excellent durability and abrasion resistance; lambskin is softer and suppler for a luxury fit. (Materials vary by product; check each product page for the exact leather type.)

2. What’s the difference between a motorcycle jacket and a fashion leather jacket?

Motorcycle jackets are built with rider safety in mind: thicker, abrasion-resistant hides, reinforced stitching, dedicated armor pockets, and features like reflective panels and ventilation. Fashion leather jackets prioritize style and a lighter, softer leather (often lambskin) and may not include armor or reinforced protection. Always check the product description before riding in a fashion jacket.

3. How should I choose the correct size?

Leather fits are different from textiles—measure a well-fitting jacket you own (chest across fullest point, sleeve length, shoulder width) and compare to our size chart on the product page. If you plan to wear armor or thick layers beneath the jacket, size up one size. Each product page includes our specific measurements—please refer to that chart for the best fit.

4. How do I care for my leather jacket/vest/chaps?

Gently wipe off dirt with a soft, slightly damp cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a leather cleaner appropriate to the leather type (finished leather, suede/nubuck require different care). Condition occasionally with a leather conditioner to keep the hide supple and prevent cracking; never machine-wash or soak leather. Always air dry away from heat sources. For suede or stubborn stains, professional leather cleaning is recommended.

5. Can I wear leather vests or chaps while riding for protection?

Yes — leather chaps and vests add abrasion resistance and are commonly used by riders. Chaps protect legs during slides; vests add an extra layer for torso/abdomen, and some are designed to accept back protectors. However, a full protective setup (CE armor, sturdy jacket, pants, gloves, boots, helmet) offers better overall protection.

6. Are your leathers waterproof?

Leather is naturally water-resistant to a degree but not fully waterproof. Prolonged exposure to heavy rain can damage leather (staining, stiffness). For wet conditions we recommend treated leather or adding a water-repellent treatment suitable for the specific leather type. If a product is specifically treated for waterproofing, it will be listed on the product page.

7. Do leather items need a break-in period?

Yes — genuine leather (especially thicker hides like cowhide or buffalo) softens and molds to the wearer with time. Expect a few weeks of regular wear for the leather to relax and take your shape. Lambskin products typically feel soft sooner.

8. What if my jacket arrives damaged or doesn’t fit?

If your item arrives damaged, or doesn’t fit, please contact Royal Bull support immediately with order number and photos. We inspect deliveries and will guide you on return, exchange or repair options. Our returns and exchange policy is shown on the shipping & returns page. (See our product page for the exact Royal Bull policy.)

9. Can I return or exchange a final-sale item?

No—items marked “Final Sale” on the product page are not eligible for returns or exchanges. Be sure to check the product listing before purchase.

10. How long will shipping take and do you ship internationally?

Shipping times depend on your location and the shipping option you choose at checkout. We ship domestically and internationally — international orders may be subject to local customs duties and import taxes, which are the buyer’s responsibility. Estimated delivery times are displayed at checkout.

11. How do I remove odor from leather?

Air the item in a well-ventilated area away from direct sun. For mild odors, leather-safe deodorizers and occasional conditioning help. Avoid harsh chemicals. For persistent smells, professional leather cleaning is recommended.

12. Can I add motorcycle armor to a fashion jacket?

Only if the jacket has sealed or sewn-in pockets sized to accept protectors. Many fashion jackets do not include armor pockets. If you plan to use armor, choose a jacket explicitly described as “motorcycle” or “armored.”

13. Do you offer repairs, replacement zippers or recoloring?

We currently provide (or partner with providers for) minor repairs and zipper replacements for Royal Bull products — contact support with photos for a repair quote. Recoloring is a specialty service and may require a professional leather restorer.

14. How long will my leather product last?

With proper care (regular cleaning, conditioning, avoiding prolonged moisture/heat), genuine leather can last many years and often looks better with age. Thicker hides and quality construction increase longevity.

15. Do you offer custom sizing or made-to-order pieces?

We offer limited custom sizing or made-to-order services for select styles—check the individual product page or contact support to request custom options and current lead times.

16. Are any of your leathers ethically sourced?

We prioritize leather suppliers who follow legal and traceable supply chains. If ethical sourcing or tannery details are especially important to you, contact us for specific product information.

17. Do motorcycle jackets have ventilation?

Many riding jackets include zip vents, perforation panels, or mesh liners to improve airflow while riding. Check the product features where ventilation will be listed.

18. How do I care for suede or nubuck jackets?

Suede/nubuck require special brush tools and suede cleaners — do not use standard leather conditioners. For tough stains or heavy soiling, professional suede cleaning is recommended.

19. Any tips for first-time leather buyers?

Measure carefully and consult our size chart; remember leather breaks in; consider whether you want a protective motorcycle spec or a softer fashion look; read the product page for leather type, lining and whether armor is included or supported.
